While the rest of the world enjoyed their day off playing video games, and not arguing on internet forums, independent game developer Phil Fish was waging an e-war with Marcus Beer (also known as AnnoyedGamer). Beer, the host of a show on Gametrailers, was attempting to get reaction statements from independent developers Phil Fish and Jonathan Blow following a recent story regarding Microsoft possibly allowing self-publishing on XBOX Live Arcade for the upcoming XBOX One console. Fish did not wish to discuss the matter, and Beer decided to talk about this on Gametrailers podcast Invisible Walls; in summary, Beer has a very low opinion of Phil Fish in general.
Fish wasn't pleased by this, and began to have an extremely hetaed argument with Beer on Twitter. The majority of their tweets are not suitable for posting here, however this all culminated in a tweet by Fish:

While this would seem to be a statement made in the passion of the moment, as so many things on Twitter are, Joystiq reached out to Fish for a comment via e-mail and got this response:

On the official Polytron Twitter account, Fish made a proper cancellation announcement:

That would seem to be a real cancellation for the game. Whether or not it was entirely due to this Twitter scuffle is currently unknown.
